How does a virtual phone system work?

Virtual phone systems use a technology called Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which essentially uses the internet to route audio-based calls, replacing the PBX server and traditional phone lines. Since your phone network is in the cloud, it can be accessed by a wide range of devices and locations.

All you need to do is connect your device to the internet. Ooma sells pre-configured IP desk phones that make connecting to your virtual phone system easy, while downloading an app and logging in is all you need to do to use Ooma Office on your smartphone or computer.
