Ooma Office comes with powerful tools that can help you block a number of unwanted calls, from spam to anonymous calls to robocalls.
Each of these tools is best suited to certain types of calls. Here’s how to take advantage of them and which type of calls they’re most effective at battling.
Anonymous calls are calls that show up as a Private Number on caller ID. You can automatically block them with Ooma Office by following these instructions.
Log in to ooma.office.com as an administrator.
Go to the Settings page.
Click System.
Go to the Call Blocking tab.
Check the “Block anonymous calls and play a busy tone” box.
Click Save.
If you receive suspicious calls from unknown numbers, you can prevent those numbers from ever calling you back again by putting it on the block list.
You can place a number on the Call Block list in two ways, from the System Page and from the Call Logs page. First, go to office.ooma.com and log in as the administrator.
Go to the Settings page.
Click System.
Go to the Call Blocking tab.
Type the number you want to block in the Block List search box.
Click Add.
Go to the Dashboard page.
Click the Call Logs page.
Click the beside the number you want to block.
Note: You can add up to 1,000 numbers on your Block List.
Ooma Office provides a great defense against robocalls with Virtual Receptionist, which makes callers press certain buttons to direct their call. Since robocalls can’t interact with Virtual Receptionist, their call is eventually disconnected.
