The first time you set up the Ooma Siren, you will need to pair it with your Telo Base Station. You can pair the sensor by following these instructions:

1. Plug the sensor into a power outlet that is within 200 feet of the Telo Base Station.
2. Open the Ooma Smart Security app and press the “Add a new sensor” button.
3. Select Ooma Siren as the type of sensor you would like to pair. If your account is not already subscribed to the Secure Plan, you will be prompted to upgrade.
4. Press and hold the pairing button on the Siren for 5 seconds. The Siren’s status will blink red.
5. The Telo Base Station and the Siren will sync with one another.

No. Keep in mind that the Siren is not weatherproof, so it should be installed indoors in a dry location.

The Ooma Siren uses an LED light to indicate its status:

• Red light flashes twice, pauses, and repeats the sequence: The Siren is updating its firmware. You should wait for the update to complete.
• Red light flashes continuously: The Siren is in pairing mode. You should follow the instructions in the Ooma Smart Security app.

The Ooma Siren uses audible cues to communicate its status:

• One beep every 2 seconds indicates one of the following statuses:
  • The device is in its arming grace period. You should make sure your doors and windows are secure and exit your home.
  • The device is in its alert grace period. You should use the app to prevent a false alarm, or take an action like calling 911.
• One beep every second indicates one of the following statuses:
  • The device’s arming grace period is about to end. You should make sure your doors and windows are secure and exit your home.
  • The device’s alert grace period is about to end. You should use the app to prevent a false alarm, or take an action like calling 911.
• A loud, continuous alarm indicates that the alert has been triggered. You should use the app to stop the false alarm or take action like calling 911.

You can sound the Ooma Siren alarm by visiting the Action Center in the Ooma home security system app and pressing the Sound Siren button.

There are two ways to silence the Ooma Siren alarm once it has been triggered:

• Open the Ooma Smart Security app and disable the alarm by pressing the Silence Siren button.
• Use the Ooma skill on Amazon Alexa by saying, “Alexa, ask Ooma to turn off the Siren.” If you use this option, the default PIN is 0000. You can use the app to update your PIN at any time.

If your Siren is not connected, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check the placement of the Siren’s sensor. The sensor should be within 200 feet of your Telo Base Station to maintain a good connection. Avoid installing your sensor near metal objects, which can obstruct the signal between your Siren and the Telo Base Station.
2. If the above steps did not solve the problem, try re-pairing the Siren by pressing “+Add Sensor” on the Ooma Smart Security mobile app dashboard and choosing the Siren. Follow the on-screen instructions.
