Be prepared for the next disaster with Call Forwarding During Device Outages
Most of us, sadly, are no strangers to unexpected outages. Anything from severe weather and natural disasters to equipment failure can cause issues and disrupt our plans.
Unfortunately, for many businesses, phone outages can go beyond being small inconveniences and become significant setbacks to your business. After all, how are you supposed to field customer calls if your business phone is down?
With traditional landline phone systems, you’re essentially forced to accept that you will miss all incoming calls when an outage occurs. Luckily, Ooma Office offers a solution that lets you automatically forward all your calls when disaster strikes.
Whether the power goes out because of unplanned maintenance or natural disasters like hurricanes or heatwaves, you can be confident that you won’t miss any important calls.
Here’s how you can stay connected — even when your devices aren’t.
How Call Forwarding During Device Outages works
Call Forwarding allows all incoming calls to be (temporarily) redirected to a number that you specify.
Typically, its use is planned or scheduled, such as when you’re going to be out of the office for a few days and want business calls forwarded to your cell phone during that time. In these cases, you would simply enable and disable Call Forwarding as needed.
But what if you don’t know exactly when a disaster will affect you? Device outages tend to be unpredictable. One second it works, then the next it doesn’t. Rarely do we have time to manually turn on Call Forwarding before the device outage hits.
This is where Ooma Office can save the day. The feature Forward Calls During Device Outages automatically forwards all calls to a number of your choice as soon as it recognizes that your devices are offline.
Turn this feature on and you won’t have to worry about missing any calls due to unforeseen outages. Keep reading to find out how to set it up.
