Send Automated E-mail When Credit Card Date is Expired

Postby thunderbird » Tue May 01, 2012 1:02 pm

Today our Waste Service Company sent us an automated E-mail message stating that our credit card date had expired. In about a minute, I went into the Waste Service on line account and updated the credit card. The Waste Service wasn't suspended and everyone is happy.

It seems like Ooma could/should also provide automated E-mails when there is a credit card date that is expired, or there is some other problem with the credit card which is required for continued Ooma Service.

What do you think?

My thoughts too after seeing this thread: /viewtopic.php?t=13709 today.

It is hard to believe that Ooma doesn't have automated notification setup...so I was wondering if it is a matter of folks not keeping up their email addresses on My Ooma - Account - Profile page. https://my.ooma.com/account/profile

I lost a credit card last month and had to cancel it. Not thinking Ooma was tied to it, I received this automated email from Ooma last week. I of course updated my credit card online and everything is fine. No interruption of service. I noticed the charge go through on my new card.

Dear XXXXXXXX,

Your credit card was recently declined while trying to process your payment for your taxes and fees for your Ooma account registered to telephone number 614-xxx-xxxx.

It appears that the credit card we have on file is either invalid, or expired. Please update your credit card and billing information as quickly as possible so we can process your payment and avoid any interruption with your Ooma telephone service.

Now that I think about it, I have received one of these in the past when my card renewed. I forgot to change it in Ooma.

So it appears that Ooma has an automated credit card reminder. So probably as you say, the problem is with the E-mail address, or Ooma's E-mails are set to go into the person's spam folder, or the people that are having problems are just ignoring the Ooma credit card E-mail reminders.
